Aspergillus fumigatus is a common fungus in the natural environnment and can even be found in the upper respiratory tracts of healthy individuals. Aspergillus fumigatus is usually transmitted through the inhalation of spores which are quickly eliminated by the immune system. However, those with weaker immune systems may develop symptoms such as infections of the eye, ear, skin, respiratory system, and aspergillosis, a pulmonary infection.
