Hepatitis B Virus in an acute form causes symptoms such as liver inflammation, vomiting, jaundice, and rarely death. Chronic Hepatitis B may cause liver cirrhosis which may lead to liver cancer. Hepatitis B virus is transmitted through sexual contact, blood transfusions, reuse of contaminated needles, and vertical transmission from mother to child during childbirth.
