Human Papilloma Viruses are a diverse group of viruses that infect the skin and mucous membranes of humans and animals. There are over 100 types of HPV resulting in symptoms ranging from benign skin warts to cervical cancer. These viruses can be transmitted environmentally, by skin to skin contact, by sexual contact, or contact with contaminated surfaces or objects.
